Well Rohan don't have an awful lot to say about these which is odd considering we consider them the best softshell technical walking / climbing / mountaineering pant around. We tried a few including Mountain Hardwear, Berghaus and North Face but the fit, features and quality of the Rohan's seemed to excel. Apparently they have been making this pant for over 30 years, well before the recent popularity in soft-shell. This probably explains why they has been refined so.
The things we love most are the reinforced scuff panels over inner ankle areas, ventilated leg zips, numerous pockets and decent belt loops (oddly lacking in many of the competitors).
The fabric is stretchy soft shell so drys quickly, is quite warm and easy to walk or climb in. They are not 100% windproof but exceptionally good and keeping the chill out nonetheless. The only issue is the price tag; at £115 smackers they are more expensive than most alternatives on the market.
